Successfully debugged and optimized boost converter circuit using MATLAB, achieving excellent output voltage characteristics and performance validation
Detailed Documentation
I successfully debugged the boost converter circuit using MATLAB simulation, achieving excellent output characteristics. The boost converter is a DC-DC power conversion circuit that elevates input voltage to a higher output level through switch-mode operation, commonly employed in electronic devices requiring voltage stepping beyond the supply level. For this project, I implemented the circuit design in MATLAB/Simulink, utilizing key power electronics components including MOSFET switches, diodes, inductors, and capacitors. The simulation incorporated PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) control algorithms to regulate the switching frequency and duty cycle, critical for maintaining output voltage stability. Through multiple simulation iterations with parameter tuning using MATLAB's optimization tools, I refined component values and control parameters to minimize ripple and improve transient response. The debugging process involved analyzing waveforms through MATLAB's plotting functions (plot(), subplot()) and employing scope blocks in Simulink for real-time monitoring. The final output curve demonstrates precise voltage regulation with minimal overshoot, meeting all project specifications. The simulation confirms robust circuit performance, ensuring reliable operation in the target application.
