Resource Overview
Detailed Documentation
In this project, I developed a comprehensive MATLAB program that calculates GPS satellite positions over 24-hour intervals. The implementation required significant time and effort, incorporating key algorithms for satellite orbit prediction including Keplerian orbital elements propagation and coordinate system transformations. During development, I deepened my understanding of GPS technology fundamentals, including receiver operational principles, orbital computation methods such as Simplified General Perturbations (SGP4) models, and Earth-Centered Earth-Fixed (ECEF) coordinate conversions. The program features modular design with functions for ephemeris data processing, orbital parameter interpolation, and position validation checks. This project substantially enhanced both my programming proficiency in MATLAB and my technical comprehension of satellite navigation systems.
