Integration of Digital Stabilizer with Video Codec in Digital Video Cameras

This paper presents a computational-efficient integration scheme for combining a digital stabilizer with the video codec of a digital video camera. The proposed method leverages motion vector clustering and restricts global motion estimation to small background regions, maintaining optimal video coding and stabilization performance. The implementation involves algorithmic optimization for real-time processing and introduces an intermediate layer for enhanced motion estimation control.
