In our MATLAB simulation research of 16QAM modulation under Rayleigh fading conditions, we incorporate comprehensive bit error rate (BER) calculation and theoretical performance analysis. The implementation involves generating 16QAM symbols using constellation mapping functions, applying Rayleigh fading channel models with appropriate Doppler spread settings, and employing maximum likelihood detection algorithms. We further investigate experimental configurations including signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) parameter selection, fading channel characteristics modeling, and Monte Carlo simulation techniques for statistical accuracy. The simulation utilizes MATLAB's communication toolbox functions such as qammod, rayleighchan, and awgn for signal generation, channel modeling, and noise addition respectively. Results analysis includes BER versus SNR performance comparison between simulated and theoretical curves, constellation diagram visualization, and error vector magnitude (EVM) calculations. Through these systematic investigations, we gain deep insights into 16QAM performance characteristics in Rayleigh fading environments, providing valuable references for further research in wireless communication systems and digital modulation techniques.
