In this project, we will develop a MATLAB-based application designed for video surveillance systems. The application will leverage MATLAB's comprehensive image processing and computer vision toolbox to enable real-time monitoring of video streams. We plan to implement advanced algorithms for video analysis, including object detection and tracking using techniques like background subtraction or YOLO (You Only Look Once) algorithms, along with face recognition capabilities through Haar cascades or deep learning approaches, and emotion analysis using facial expression classification models. The application will feature a user-friendly graphical interface created with MATLAB's App Designer or GUIDE, allowing users to easily operate the program while providing customization options for parameter adjustments such as detection sensitivity thresholds, tracking parameters, and analysis settings. We believe this application will serve as a valuable tool for effectively managing and monitoring video resources, with potential implementations including motion-triggered recording, real-time alerts, and multi-camera support through MATLAB's video processing functions like vision.VideoFileReader and vision.VideoPlayer.
