Research on Filtered Back Projection Reconstruction Algorithm

Resource Overview

Study of filtered back projection reconstruction algorithm using phantom images as examples, involving filter construction and image reconstruction with implementation details

Detailed Documentation

In this research, we conducted an in-depth investigation of the filtered back projection reconstruction algorithm, with detailed analysis using phantom images as test cases. We designed and implemented an efficient filter for image reconstruction, which typically involves mathematical operations such as ramp filtering or Hanning window functions in the frequency domain. The reconstruction process employs Radon transform projections and applies inverse Fourier transforms to recover the original image. Through this study, we derived significant conclusions and proposed improvement directions for the filtered back projection algorithm, including potential optimizations in computational efficiency and artifact reduction. These findings hold substantial importance for advancing research in the field of image reconstruction, particularly in medical imaging and computed tomography applications.
