The Jacobian matrix serves as a fundamental tool in multivariate differential calculus, with extensive applications in numerical analysis, optimization problems, and machine learning. From an implementation perspective, computing the Jacobian matrix primarily involves solving partial derivatives for each component of multivariate functions.
For a given set of multivariate functions, each row of the Jacobian matrix corresponds to the gradient vector of one function. Specifically, given m functions of n variables, the Jacobian matrix is an m×n matrix where the element at position (i,j) represents the partial derivative of the i-th function with respect to the j-th variable.
In practice, there are two main approaches to compute the Jacobian matrix:
Analytical method: When mathematical expressions of functions are known and differentiable, partial derivatives can be obtained directly using symbolic differentiation
