The implementation of dynamic voltage restorer (DVR) output is completed within the SimPower Systems toolbox. Voltage quality and sag issues in power systems represent critical challenges as they can adversely affect the normal operation of electrical equipment and industrial production processes. Consequently, research and development of practical voltage regulation and sag mitigation techniques are essential for power system reliability. The dynamic voltage restorer serves as an advanced power electronic device capable of voltage restoration and sag compensation in electrical networks. Comprising power electronic components and sophisticated controllers, it provides reliable solutions for power system voltage quality enhancement. In this implementation, we utilize the DVR module available in SimPower Systems toolbox, configuring appropriate parameters and control strategies to achieve effective voltage regulation and sag mitigation. The implementation involves setting up the power circuit using IGBT-based converters and designing the control system with voltage reference tracking algorithms. Key configuration parameters include DC-link voltage settings, filter parameters for harmonic suppression, and PI controller gains for dynamic response optimization. The control algorithm implements instantaneous voltage measurement techniques and generates appropriate compensating voltages through space vector PWM modulation. The MATLAB/Simulink implementation features real-time voltage monitoring through measurement blocks and employs abc-dq0 transformation for three-phase voltage control. The system demonstrates rapid response to voltage sags by injecting compensating voltages within milliseconds, maintaining load voltage stability during grid disturbances. Simulation results validate the DVR's capability to mitigate voltage sags up to 50% depth while maintaining harmonic distortion within IEEE standards.
